How to Pullup #34 – Myofascial Release
Myofascial release is a fancy way of saying foam-rolling and self-massage. You use these tools to help massage your muscles and 'fascia' back to their original state and lengths.
Any muscle knots and tightness can be hugely improved by using myofascial release and will benefit you in both the short and long-term of your training career.
Better Resources
I'm going to say up front that you should really look into this topic more in-depth with some much better resources. Notably, a great place to start is with Kelly Starrett at MobilityWOD.
After starting his online daily YouTube videos back in 2010, he's actually kept up with providing content all this time (That's a lot of videos) and has helped many, many people with sorting out their imbalances and muscular problems.
He also wrote a best-seller book called 'How to be a Supple Leopard', and a few others since then, which is also highly recommended. It's very CrossFit-orientated, but can be applied to anyone and everyone.
Instead of describing each myofascial release technique, heead over to Kelly Starrets videos instead, who does a much better job at explaining the ideas.
